About this event
Join LDG’s Luisa MacCormack as we explore the world of the inimitable Louise Bourgeois!
Known for her site specific and monolithic sculptures, her haunting installations and her skill as a sculptor, unbeknownst to many, Louise Bourgeois’ oeuvre also includes a collection of literally thousands of drawings. Made over the span of her seventy year career, Bourgeois’ drawings are perhaps the most immediate of the artists’s works – often created late at night whilst suffering from insomnia, or as a kind of creative diary, the drawings explore universal and deeply emotional themes, all through the medium of doodling.
This class will explore Louise Bourgeois’ obsession with Drawing through a series of mindful drawing exercises, working both from imagination, some of Bourgeois’ own writings, and from her oeuvre, expect a series of unusual therapeutic exercises designed to make use of drawing as a cathartic tool.
You will need
LOTS of paper, Red ink or pens, Pencils and Black ink or Pens

About the Bootcamp:
Each week will see 2 hours of live teaching by the DataStax Developers in the form of a workshop. Like any online course, there will be a number of homework assignments to complete during the course of the week. The total learning time per week including live teaching and homework tasks is approximately 3 hours.
You can decide to tackle as many or as few weeks as you want. There is no penalty for not completing the homework tasks, however we highly recommend that you do in order to prepare for the certification exam and to claim your voucher to sit the exam for FREE!
Each week is standalone, meaning you can come and go as you please.

Build microservices on Apache Cassandra™ with APIs (Rest and GraphQL)
If you attended our previous sessions, you will now have coded the majority of your project on top of Cassandra! In this final session, you will leave with your own full-stack application ready to go.
We will learn how to expose and publish our treatments through efficient and secure APIs using technologies like Rest, GraphQL and more. As before, multiple languages and related frameworks will be used (Spring, Django, Express, Apollo). Stay with us to have the front-end interacting with your very own backend microservice!
If you have any questions you can jump on the DataStax Developers Discord community. There are a lot of people in the chat and you will always find help from more experienced community members, as well as the DataStax Developers themselves.

After our first iteration with over 800 registrants and 36 hours of hacking, StarHacks is proud to host our second hackathon, StarHacks II, on Saturday and Sunday, January 22-23, 2022 with beginner-focused pre-event workshops on Saturday, January 8; Sunday, January 9; Saturday, January 15; Sunday, January 16.
StarHacks is a free, beginner-focused, all-inclusive all-female and nonbinary high school and collegiate global and virtual hackathon, here to break the mold of what a person in tech looks like one hackathon at a time.
